What is TEFL?

TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) implies teaching English in a non-anglophone country such as France, Brazil or Japan. Basic principles apply to TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) which is a term used for teaching English in the U.S.A., for example, to speakers of other languages.

Who takes a TEFL Paris Certificate Course?

Typically a group is made up of about half British. Other participants may be American, Australian, Irish, South African, etc. as well as non-native speakers of English.

Participants vary in age from 21 to 55+.

Most have a B.A. or higher degree.

Who are the students in the classes that TEFL Paris organizes for teaching practice?

They are a mixture of adults and teen-agers, usually French. They do not pay course fees and are informed when they enrol that a multinational team of highly motivated learner-teachers will teach them.

Class size is limited to 12.

Is it necessary for me to be able to speak French?

Absolutely not. However, experience learning a foreign language is very helpful.

Will the TEFL Paris certificate help me get a job in France?

TEFL or CELTA? Do you need a TEFL certification before going to France?

The answer is simple: Yes!

This is especially true for people who lack crucial work experience. Whether you get a TEFL (Teach English as a Second Language) or a CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults), employers want to see real, in-class teaching hours, under your belt.

French employers will check up the validation of your Certificate.

Will the TEFL Paris certificate help me get a job elsewhere in the world?

Absolutely! TTCP TEFL graduates have found work teaching English in Turkey, Vietnam, South America, Italy, Japan, Spain, Poland, China, Germany, Finland, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Iceland, and Korea as well as in the U.S.A. and Great Britain.
