He has been teaching in the world of TEFL since 1992. He started teaching immigrant classes in San Francisco before moving to Spain in 1995.

He taught a wide variety of classes in several cities before settling in Barcelona and becoming a Teacher Trainer in 1998.

He has directed TEFL courses in Barcelona, Prague and most recently, Paris.

Peter currently teaches the TEFL Diploma as well.

He frequently publishes teaching materials on the internet.

Peter’s areas of interest include Listening Skills development, Second Language Acquisition and creating instructional teaching videos. His present area of research is on how first languages are learned. Peter has a degree in French from Radford University, Virginia and he holds the TEFL Diploma from Trinity College, London.

Jonathan Davies Teacher Trainer

Jon, originally from Exeter in England, has been involved in language teaching since 1991. He graduated from Middlesex University in London with an Honours degree in French and Spanish with modules in TEFL, following this with a PGCE in Modern Languages and TEFL in 1994.

After teaching in Bilbao, Toulouse and Oporto, he moved to Barcelona in 1995 to teach at the British Council Young Learners’ Centre, developing an expertise in Classroom Management for children and adolescents, about which he has written articles and given presentations.

Over ten years later, he believes that it is important for teacher trainers not to “lose touch”, so continues to teach English at the two main Universities in Barcelona, as well as at the University of Exeter in the summers.

He also spends a month every year working in the world of Educational Travel, as a tour guide for US High School groups visiting France and Spain.

As if this wasn’t enough, he spends his free time cycle racing!

Mark  McKinnon  Teacher Trainer

Mark has 13 years’ experience in EFL teaching in Spain and his native Scotland.

He has been based in Barcelona since 1998 where he has taught general and business English to a wide variety of students including many years of patient teaching with children and teenagers, which we are told he really liked.

Mark has been a tutor on the LTCL Diploma in TESOL in Barcelona since 2003 as well as TESOL Certificate courses.

He divides his time between this work, his job at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and TEFL Paris.

As well as teaching and training he has written materials for a well-known EFL publisher but if pushed he would always say he preferred to be at the chalk-face of day-to-day teaching.

Mark has a BA Degree in Business Studies and holds the LTCL Diploma in TESOL from Trinity College, London.

Geoff Harwood Teacher Trainer

Geoff is originally from Baltimore, Maryland but has lived in Europe since 1992. He has been an EFL teacher and teacher trainer in Spain, France, Poland, Bosnia and the Czech Republic. He holds the TEFL Diploma from Cambridge University and has lectured at the University of Sarajevo and Charles University in Prague. He has also worked as a teacher and teacher trainer for the British Council in Bosnia and the Czech Republic. His interests include implementing humanism in the classroom and teacher development.
